There was a pause, then the man on the other end exasperatedly said, "What the hell am I supposed to do with the secretary? I only contracted you to get the lawyer."
The woman looked at her finger and then rubbed it with her thumb. "What do I care? You said you had to have the attorney taken out of circulation immediately. I had an opportunity to take her so I did. She happened to be with her secretary at the time."
"Well why didn't you just off her? Or leave her?" the man growled.
"You know my rules. I don't kill. If you want to kill her after you take possession, that's your business. I'm in acquisitions, not murder. And you wanted me to leave a witness? Brilliant. No wonder you don't do the dirty jobs yourself, you're a moron." She paused for a moment and looked at the two struggling women. "Maybe I should just let them go and tell them who ordered me to abduct them."
There was another long pause. "Dammit, fine." the man groaned. "I'll be over to pick them up shortly."
"Good," the woman said, smiling. "I knew you'd see reason."
"Yeah, whatever," the man said and hung up with a huff.
The woman in red dialed another number. "Yes, detective? It's me. I've got your missing solicitor and her secretary tied up in the old Grayson Shipping warehouse in the industrial district. I'm only telling you this because my contractor this time is a real bastard and I know he's not only going to welch on the other half of my contract, but try to kill me when he comes to take possession of the goods. I was thinking perhaps you and your organized crime task force could prepare a reception for him. Think of it, you get to be a hero and rescue the damsels in distress. Don't bother trying to track me down, I'll be gone with the wind before you can put your phone back in your pocket. Oh, and you're welcome."
