The Black Canary: Cats and Canaries

It had been several hours since Dinah Lance, a.k.a. The Black Canary, had heard from her Birds of Prey teammates Batgirl and Huntress.  She decided to put her current mission on hold and search for them.  There seemed to be no sign of them at the construction site they'd been checking out.  In fact, it was eerily quiet.  She wandered over towards a bright light near the center of the site.  As she approached she heard the soft hum of a generator.  The light was blinding, one of those super-bright work lights like interstate road crews used at night.  She thought she saw something on the ground in front of her and knelt down to take a look.  She lifted it and turned it in her hand.  "A batarang?  So Batgirl was here...." she thought.  An instant later there was a loud crack and the Canary felt a leather tendril coil around her neck, nearly choking her.  There was a yank, pulling her to her feet and sending her stumbling backwards and into the arms of her attacker.  "Catwoma...." she cried, but before she could finish the word a wet rag clamped over her face.  She immediatley recognized the smell of chloroform.

"Birds of Prey was an inspired name for you three," she heard the felonious feline cackle.  "You're all dreadfully easy to predate upon."

Dinah struggled fiercely, but it was no use.  Each second the anesthetic soaked away her strength and plunged her deeper and deeper into confusion and delirium.  She could feel her consciousness ebbing away, but before she passed out Catwoman tossed away the cloth and shoved her into the glaring light and slammed her up against a nearby wall.  All she could do is moan helplessly as Catwoman tied her, gagged her, and teased her, then dragged her towards a waiting van and an unknown fate.
