The Pipistrelle's Night Out 40

Vanish pulled the cloth away and stared down at the unconscious heroine for a long moment. "The Soprano Pipistrelle, completely helpless and at my mercy," she said aloud, a broad smile on her lips. "You really are quite lovely, my little bat," she cooed. "It's a shame I can't keep you for very long for my own enjoyment, but that rather menacing looking German friend of yours offered me £30,000 for either you or that society tart Lady Serendipity, and I'd give her my own mother for that sum, cooked like a Christmas goose if she wanted. I was going to go for the easier target, but since you happened to drop right into my lap, so much the better!" Vanish laughed. "Now to get you chained up nice and tight and get a carriage to take you to your new....home."
